Who we are
A safe place to grow older with grace.
Since 1996, Yuvak Vikas Kendra has worked for the wellbeing of people in the Uthamapalayam region. Today our work is focused on two residential homes for older women: Y.V.K 50, which supports 50 women, and Shastha Nilayam, which supports 25.
The homes are supported by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment through the AVYAY-IPSrC programme. Each woman has a bed, secure storage, nutritious food and the attention of a care team. Equally important is the life of the home: conversation, prayer, festivals and the knowledge that one is not alone.

Balanced meals, medical visits and support with medicines help residents stay as healthy and comfortable as possible.

Our homes
Seventy-five women, each known by name.
Our homes are run with the support of the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, our care staff and local well-wishers. The work is simple and demanding: meals, medicine, cleanliness, safety and the daily effort of making a shared home feel personal.
